Andrew & I headed off last week to the trade fairs…. yes fairs… there are 3! We normally spend 4 days, but this time decided to spend 5 to have a REALLY good look. We also had a showroom visit for 4.5 hours at Whitehill where we began to order Christmas decorations. Now I adore Christmas. I once fantasized about owning a Christmas shop. But I must be truthful, when I walked upstairs to the Christmas showroom, my heart didn’t sing, nor did the sound of Jingle Bells in my head excite me. The good news is by the time I had a good look around and then spent the following 3 hours choosing, I was really enthused!
We didn’t find more divine ornaments and trees until day 3, when my heart was well and truly excited. This year we have found some really stunning ornaments, new trees and a new colour range as well as new suppliers to keep things fresh! We have only one more showroom visit to make and our Christmas orders will be finialised.
We normally receive our Christmas orders mid October, when we transform the vintage room into the wonder of Christmas. Without giving too much away, there are more owls and birds, feathers, deer and lovely caramel coloured decorations. We have a colour range this time that isn’t traditional red and gold…. you will have to wait and see but it’s lovely, elegant and able to last for a long time without dating like the fads of pink & purple!
There are more and more snow styled trees around, which only proves their popularity… once I thought no way, we don’t have snow here in Summer so why a snow tree, but I have been won over as some of the most stunning trees do have snow! Just before Christmas arrives I will be giving an update, with a few more photos!
